Hyman and Genevieve Feinstein
Hyman Feinstein was a respected Mason chemistry professor remembered by one of his students as an "extraordinary, larger than
life" figure during the institution's early days; Genevieve Feinstein, a Mason mathematics professor who died last year at the age of 93, was a World War II cryptanalyst whose modesty belied her significance in history.
Their devotion to one another and to Mason was strong and enduring. Together, they made the largest cash gift ever given to Mason by former faculty members to endow scholarships.
In January, the National Security Agency (NSA) paid tribute to the Genevieve Grotjan Feinstein, a former Mason math professor, for her significant research in the field of cryptology during World War II. Feinstein, who passed away in 2006 at the age of 93, will receive a place in the NSA’s Hall of Honor.

Roy Rosenzweig
The Center for History and New Media (CHNM) has launched a fundraising campaign in honor of its founder, and former faculty member, Roy Rosenzweig (1950-2007). Rosenzweig was a visionary leader in the field of digital history, and the breath and depth of the resources provided by CHNM are a direct reflection of his work.
Each year, CHNM's many project websites receive over 16 million visitors, and more than a million people rely on its digital tools to teach, learn, and conduct research.
Currently, all donations to the CHNM endowment will be matched by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Marc Gopin
Dr. Marc Gopin Gopin is the James H. Laue Professor of Religion, Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution, an endowed chair named in honor of the university’s first Lynch Professor of Conflict Resolution for S-CAR and established by Mrs. Mariann Laue Baker. Learn more about Dr. Gopin and his work.
