College of Education and Human Development
The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) has over 10,000 alumni living and working in every state and 20 foreign countries. CEHD alumni are classroom teachers and counselors, school administrators and higher education professionals, researchers and authors, managers and civil servants, military professionals and elected officials. They are a diverse group of professional educators who all share one central bond with CEHD and with each other: a commitment to the highest levels of practice and service in diverse schools, organizations and communities.
The College of Education and Human Development encourages alumni to stay involved with each other, the school, and the university, and works closely with the Office of Alumni Affairs to provide our alumni with resources, services, and opportunities for meaningful interaction.
CEHD is also extraordinarily involved with and responsive to the needs of the local community, with partnerships with school divisions, government and community agencies, educational and research institutions, and businesses throughout Virginia and the metropolitan DC area. In addition to our degree, certificate, and training programs, we offer community resources including:
- services and grants for individuals with disabilities;
- special education resources; fitness facilities and resources;
- exercise programs for senior citizens;
- career services and testing for both recent graduates and adults considering career changes; and
- science, math, computer writing, sports, and adaptive/assistive technology summer camps for children.
