Volunteer Leadership

Alumni, parents, friends, faculty, and staff are integral to advancing the fundraising goals of the university. Their leadership service is ensuring George Mason’s growth as a center for inquiry and knowledge.

George Mason University Foundation

The George Mason University Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees chaired by Michael Anzilotti, MBA '83, LHD (Hon.) '03. The foundation generates, manages, invests and administers private support on behalf of the university.

Legacy Society

Charles “Bee” Smith, Jr. and Regina Smith, ’92, MAIS ’97, co-chair the Legacy Society, which recognizes individuals who have made provisions for deferred or planned gifts. Qualifying gifts include life income arrangements, bequests, and life insurance policies in which the university is owner and beneficiary.

Annual Giving Committee

Tammy McBride, ’99, MS ’06, serves as chair of the Annual Giving Committee, which supports the Office of Annual Giving in its efforts to solicit annual contributions from donors, recognize individuals for their contributions, and build awareness of the importance of such funding to the university.

Campaign for Mason Students

Serving as volunteer chair of the Campaign for Mason Students is Jimmy Hazel, JD ’84. The campaign seeks to strengthen and create more scholarship packages, student programs, and library resources to encourage academic achievement and personal growth.
